The Fleet plan inclined towards Boeing , when Indian Billionaire investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala funded Ultra Low Cost Carrier (ULCC) 'Akasa' hired it's Top management from 'Now Defunct Jet Airways' or 'Jet Airways 1.0' .
Will it be an 'All Boeing B737 Max fleet' for the Upcoming Airline to start with , when the Max Aircrafts are still grounded in India , with Aviation regulator DGCA taking more time to re-certify them.
Just after the airline received the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to start it's operations, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and team framed it's Top management from 'Jet Airways 1.0' , that has been traditionally a Boeing Fleet Operator.
Among other Top officials for the 'Akasa' are, Praveen Iyer as chief commercial officer, Bhavin Joshi as senior vice-president of finance and leasing, Belson Coutinho will be the head- marketing, Anand Srinivasan as the chief information officer, Adam Voss will be the head of engineering, Captain Floyd Gracious will be the head of Operations, and Ajit Baghchandani will control inflight services .
Other Developments in B737 Max Recertification...
It is intersting to note that, most of the Top management has served 'Jet Airways 1.0' at some point of time, and Boeing-India is well connected to them for the required negotiations to grab the ground in South Asian Region, where Airbus is doing progressively well with Patrons like Indigo ,Go First ,Vistara and Air Asia-India.
The fact that , the manpower that can handle a Boeing fleet , which includes Pilots , engineers , cabin crew and other ground handling staffs are easily available at this moment, when the kalrock jalan consortium backed 'Jet Airways 2.0' is yet to take off.
It is also being learned that, 'Akasa' might go for a fleet of 70 to 100 Boeing narrow Body Aircrafts , most likely the Boeing B737 Max , for which Jhunjhunwala's team is in contact with DGCA for it's re-certification in india.

Jhunjhunwala is said to be investing $35 million in the airline for a 40 per cent stake. The carrier has plans to operate a fleet of 70 to 100 aircrafts in it's initial years, with Bengaluru being it's Main base.
It will be Interesting to see , what dynamics is fetched to the Indian Aviation sector, on the Arrivals of likes of 'Akasa' and 'Jet Airways 2.0' in the near Future, when there is a War going on for the Routes already in the South asian country !
