  • The Lublin National Revenue Administration (KAS) of Poland detained 5 tons of tires for Boeing civilian aircraft.

As per the National Revenue Administration of Poland on Monday, Polish customs seized 5 metric tons of tyres for civilian Boeing aircraft which were due to transit through Belarus and Russia.

 

Poland's Customs and Tax Service officers from the Lublin Customs and Tax Office (UCS) during an inspection of a truck in Koroszczyn discovered that the driver, instead of the declared car and bus tires, was transporting tires used in Boeing civil aircraft.

 

The press officer of the head of the National Revenue Administration, Asp. Justyna Pasieczyńska, explained that the transit of such goods through the territory of Belarus and Russia is subject to sanctions.

 

 

They are the result of Russia's actions destabilizing the situation in Ukraine and concern restrictions in connection with the situation in Belarus and Belarus' participation in Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

 

The consignor of the goods to Azerbaijan was a company from Spain.

"In connection with the customs fraud, fiscal criminal proceedings were initiated. The goods covered by sanctions were seized. The investigation into the violation of sanction regulations is being conducted by the Lublin Customs and Fiscal Office," Pasieczyńska said.

As per KAS, the transit of such goods through the territory of Belarus and Russia is subject to sanctions under Council Regulation (EU) No 833/2014 concerning restrictive measures in view of Russia's actions destabilising the situation in Ukraine and Council Regulation (EC) No 765/2006 concerning restrictive measures in view of the situation in Belarus and Belarus's participation in Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

Tax criminal proceedings were initiated in connection with customs fraud.

 

The sanctioned goods were detained. The investigation into the violation of sanctions regulations is being conducted by the Lublin UCS.
