Qatar, Libya sign MoU on civil aviation , General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) To Conduct Field Visits In October.

Qatar's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) held bilateral talks with Libyan Civil Aviation Authority this Thursday. Following the talks, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of civil aviation.

 

The MoU is part of joint efforts by both parties to deepen bilateral relations and put frameworks that contribute to developing ways of cooperation in the civil aviation sector, enhancing ways of cooperation in the field of security and safety, and exchanging experiences.

 

The Libyan Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation for Air Transport Affairs, Khaled Suwaisi, has also affirmed that audit teams of Qatar's Civil Aviation will conduct a field visit next month to inspect three Libyan airports.

 

 

The memorandum aims to establish a framework of work between the two parties in developing and Operating channels of joint cooperation between in the field of:

  • Air safety
  • Air traffic management
  • Civil aviation security and facilities
  • Meteorological services
  • Legal affairs
  • Exchanging trained and qualified competencies
  • Organizing workshops and training courses.

 

Suwaisi added in a statement that the field visits target Mitiga airports in Tripoli, Benina in Benghazi, and Misrata to see the preparations of Libyan airports for the resumption of direct flights between Libya and Qatar and the return of Qatar Airways to Libya.

 

The Libiyan Ministry of Transportation announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Civil Aviation and the General Civil Aviation of Qatar.
