Expressing country's development in the aviation sector, Iraq's Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed on Sunday that Iraq is open to cooperation with the UAE in the field of aviation and air transport.

 

The Prime Minister's Media Office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): that

"Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the Director-General of the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates, Saif Mohammed al-Suwaidi, in the presence of the Chairman of the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority and Minister of Construction and Housing, Benkin Rikani."

 
 

During the meeting, according to the statement, al-Sudani emphasized

"the government's keenness to develop the aviation and air transport sector, given its great importance in the development of other sectors, particularly tourism and economic development."

 

He explained that

"Iraq is open to cooperation with the UAE in the field of aviation and air transport, and the need to benefit from the qualitative leap achieved in this field, and to develop Iraq's growing capabilities in parallel with the comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the country."

 

For his part, Saif Al Suwaidi pointed to

"the importance of Iraq as an air corridor linking East and West, and its potential to become a hub for regional integration within the international aviation network," expressing his country's readiness to "strengthen and develop close cooperation with Iraq in all aspects related to civil aviation and air transport."
