The delivery schedule remains projected for 2026, contingent upon the fulfillment of usual precedent conditions in contracts of this type.
The introduction of the Airbus A330-900neo models marks an important step in expanding the company's operational capacity, especially on long-haul routes.
Brazilian Gol Linhas Aéreas announced that its parent company, Abra Group, has signed an operating lease agreement to incorporate up to five Airbus A330-900neo aircraft into the company's fleet.
In a departure to its "all Boeing fleet" model, this is a significant strategic move for the company listed on the Brazilian stock exchange, marking the first time Gol will operate aircraft from the European manufacturer Airbus.
According to a statement sent to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), the new jets will be used on long-haul routes, expanding the company's international reach. Until now, Gol's fleet consisted exclusively of aircraft from the American manufacturer Boeing.
In October, 2025, the Abra Group had announced the expansion of its fleet with the signing of a contract for more than 50 Airbus A320neo and A330neo aircraft.
The decision is part of a broader expansion plan led by Abra Group, the holding company that controls Gol and other airlines in the region. The strategy seeks to strengthen the company's presence in international flights and expand connectivity between markets in Latin America and other global destinations.
According to the company, the A330-900neo aircraft are expected to be delivered throughout 2026, depending on the fulfillment of common precedent conditions in aircraft leasing contracts.
"The incorporation of the A330-900neo aircraft into GOL's fleet is aligned with Abra Group's broader strategic plan, aimed at expanding operations regionally and internationally," the company highlighted in an official statement.
Adrian Neuhauser, CEO of Abra Group, said:
"Abra Group was created with the purpose of expanding access to aviation, further connecting Latin America to the world. With the new A330neo aircraft operated by GOL, we will explore long-haul markets from Brazil – this is highly strategic for Abra. We are becoming even stronger by offering new route options so our customers can benefit from greater opportunities across our Group's airlines."
Gol Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes is one of the leading airlines in Brazil, operating in passenger and cargo transportation. The company has established itself in the low-cost aviation segment of the domestic market and competes with companies such as Azul and Latam.
Together with the aircraft that will be incorporated into its fleet, GOL also announced an ACMI agreement with Wamos Air, also part of the Abra Group. The arrangement will allow the Company to fill capacity quickly on selected routes.
With the introduction of the wide body aircraft like A330-900neo, the company signals a significant step in diversifying its fleet and expanding its presence in the international commercial aviation market.
