  • Alaska Airlines is in receipt of its first Boeing 787 aircraft featuring its new global livery.
  • Alaska Airlines announced the largest aircraft order, acquiring 105 Boeing 737-10 jets and five Boeing 787 widebody aircraft, with options for additional planes through 2035.
  • Alaska Air Group currently operates a fleet of 413 aircraft across its carriers. The company expects to operate more than 475 aircraft by 2030 and more than 550 aircraft by 2035.
  • The new aircraft will support fleet modernization and international expansion, including long-haul routes from Seattle to Europe and Asia as part of the airline’s Alaska Accelerate strategy.

 

Alaska Airlines has unveiled the new paint "Global Livery " to be applied to the Boeing 787-9 aircraft on January 7 local time. The design was inspired by the Aurora, and the first aircraft (registration number N784HA) received from Boeing was applied over 13 days.

 

The new livery is based on the aurora "Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)" seen in the Arctic Circle. The body features a deep midnight blue and a bright emerald green, and the painting was also released on the operation site YouTube.

 

It will also be introduced to the same type of aircraft owned by Hawaiian Airlines, a subsidiary of the group, and is expected to be introduced to all 787s by this spring.

 

 

Alaska Airlines announced on the 7th January that it has ordered up to 140 737-10 (737 MAX 10) and 5 additional 787s. In the largest aircraft order in the company's history, 787 expressed its intention to receive the 787-10, which has the longest fuselage. Both models will be introduced for the first time.

 

Alaska Airlines today announced the carrier's largest-ever airplane order as part of its long-term plan to expand its domestic and international route networks. The order includes:

  • 105 737-10 airplanes and options for 35 more of the largest 737 MAX variant to serve high-density routes and renew its existing fleet.
  • Five 787 widebody jets to expand the airline's long-haul service to and from Europe and Asia.

 

The latest aircraft order announced Wednesday will bring Alaska’s B787 widebody fleet to 17, with five already in operation. Following the Hawaiian acquisition, the airline also has 24 widebody A330s.

 

With this development, the total fleet for Alaska Air Group from 413 aircraft to 475 planes by 2030 and 550 by 2035. Alaska Air Group includes Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, regional carrier Horizon Air and ground support company McGee Air Services.

 

The company has set up a 787-9 pilot base in Seattle, where it is based, and opened the Rome route in April and the London (Heathrow) route in May. Expand long-distance routes from Seattle, such as Atlantic routes.
