Russian carrier Aeroflot will restart direct flights between Maldives and Russia from May 13 onwards to provide Russians an option for vaccation , amid sanctions .
Aeroflot plans to use Airbus A330 aircraft operate a daily scheduled flight between Male and Moscow.
However , this was only possible after Maldives Civil Aviation Authority agreed to it's Russian counterpart , confirming the validity of the air service agreement between two the countries.
The letter was addressed to the First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, where the authority presented its compliments to the Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation.
The Aviation authority also assured that the Maldives will provide aircraft services such as ground handling and fuelling as needed.
Earlier , the Tourism Ministry of Maldives had confirmed that arrangements were being made to restart the Aeroflot operation to the Maldives.
An official from the Maldivian Foreign Ministry had also stated that there are no obstructions to continuing the airlines' operation to the Maldives.
