Kamchatka Aviation Enterprise, Antonov An-26B-100 (MSN 12310) crashed into the sea near Palana Airport of Kamchatka peninsula, Russia.
Reportedly, AN-26B-100 lost communication with 28 people on board on approach to Palan. The location of Palana airport (UHPL) is such that any aircraft on approach to runway 12 requires sufficient visibility to clear the uneven higher coastline before aligning with the runway.
The aircraft with registration RA-26085, carrying out flight PTK-251 with the worst climatic condition was unable to land at an alternate airport and crashed in the Sea of Okhotsk.
It is suspected that the An-26 collided with the upper edge of the cliff while operating in reduced visibility conditions.
The Aircraft was flying from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to Palana in the Kamchatka Peninsula with 22 passengers and six crew members. It is being feared that , there are no survicors from the accident.
