Pilot 'fainted' in the cockpit - Passengers on a Turkey-bound flight from Birmingham Airport experienced a mid-air chaos after a pilot reportedly "fainted", that forced the aircraft to make an emergency landing on August 23.
Passengers in the Jet2 Boeing 737-8K5 aircraft (G-GDFW) from Birmingham Airport (BHX) to Antalya (AYT) in Turkey had to make a stop in Greece , which the airline called a medical emergency.
Aircraft was stuck on the runway in Thessaloniki for more than an hour waiting for an ambulance to arrive.
A Jet2 spokesperson : “Flight LS1239 from Birmingham to Antalya diverted to Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) as a precautionary measure on Tuesday (August 23) due to one of the pilots feeling unwell.
