An Antonov An-26 lost its Left propeller assembly on approach to Juba (HSSJ), South-Sudan as the shaft got sheared. The An-26 aircraft managed to land safely without further incident.

The sheared propeller assembly landed near the Juba-Bor road fortunately without causing any injuries on the ground workers of a highway construction project.

The Local construction workers of the highway between Bor and Juba, South Sudan, said that, an plane flying over-head in the direction towards Juba got its propeller detached from the aircraft during cruise, and fell in the proximity of  them.

However, the Director of Juba International Airport Kur Kuol told that the aircraft was heading to Paloch in Upper Nile state but made an U-turn after the propeller fell off.

With an emergency memo, Civil Aviation Authority of South Sudan has banned all private owned AN 26 aircrafts operating in the country.
