On 7th Of August , a Delta Airlines Airbus A330-323X aircraft was climbing through Flight Level 260 (FL260), when the Right engine, otherwise called Number-2 engine gave hard time to the Cockpit.
The Compressor of the Right Hand side Pratt & Whitney PW4168A Turbofan Engine stalled, followed by Overtemperature and engine vibration indications in the Cockpit , when the roughly 17.4 years old Aircraft was flying Over Pacific Ocean.
This Scenario prompted the Cockpit Crew to declare the Emergency and Put the Throttle Lever to the idle setting , before making a Decent to Flight Level 160 (FL160) .

The subject aircraft bearing registration number N808NW was performing a flight 'DL-304' from Honolulu, HI (IATA: HNL, ICAO: PHNL) to Atlanta (IATA: ATL, ICAO: KATL) of USA , when Pilots decided to return back to Honolulu after the engine failure Incident took place.
Eventually, the Aircraft could not make use of ETOPS ( Extended Twin engine Range Operations) or EDTO due to unknown reasons. Aircraft Returned back to Honolulu with out any further safety breach and followed the normal disembarkation procedure.
EDTO ( Extended diversion time operations ) is defined as any operation by an aeroplane with two or more turbine engines where the diversion time to an en‐route alternate aerodrome is greater than the threshold time established by the State of the Operator.
The N808NW Aircraft was Previously flown under Northwest Airlines from 2004 to 2010 under the same registration , and got inducted to Delta fleet on 01/02/2010.
