Fresh Sactions ! The EU imposed sanctions against Ural Airlines and the Novaport holding.

• The European Union included Ural Airlines and the airport holding company Novaport in the 14th package of sanctions list.
• As for Novaport, it is included in the list because the holding’s airports are used by Russian military aviation
• According to the EU magazine, Novaport also because it serves the Pskov-Simferopol flight.

Today, the European Union announced the inclusion of the airline Ural Airlines and the holding company Novaport in its sanctions list. 

European Union countries adopted a 14th package of sanctions on Russia that aims to close some loopholes, EU foreign ministers said on Monday.

Ural Airlines has been targeted in this package of sanctions due to the airline’s role in providing logistical support to Russian military forces, specifically by transporting personnel towards combat zones during mobilization.

The official document also states that the airline has implemented special ticketing conditions to serve the interests of the Ministry of Defense.

Novaport has been sanctioned because the airports under its control are being utilized by Russian military aviation. Additionally, the holding company is noted for facilitating flights between Pskov and Simferopol.

The sanctions reflect ongoing international responses to the geopolitical situation involving Russia, aiming to limit support for military operations and to hold entities accountable for their involvement.
