A special Airbus A220-100 aircraft variant is here! The new aircraft has 127 seats, which makes it unique in the world for this model.
CROATIA Airlines welcomed the seventh of a total of 15 new Airbus A220 aircraft in Zagreb, with which the company is renewing and modernizing its fleet.
Croatia Airlines that has used a mix of Airbus narrow‑bodies and Dash 8s to balance summer peaks with shoulder seasons, is expected to make the optimal use of this A220 Family aircraft that's the only aircraft purpose‑built for the 100 to 150 seat market segment.
It is the first new A220-100 aircraft in the Croatia Airlines fleet, which bears the registration marks 9A-CAO and was named Dubrovnik.
The milestone sits inside a multi‑year plan to renew the fleet with up to fifteen A220s, replacing older Airbus and turboprop types to cut fuel burn, lower noise, and tighten the timetable footprint.
President of the Management Board of Croatia Airlines Jasmin Bajić pointed out that it is particularly interesting that the new aircraft has a larger number of seats compared to other aircraft of this type, 127 of them.
The planned fleet renewal ends in 2027, when Croatia Airlines will have 15 new A220 aircraft, of which 13 will be A220-300 and two A220-100.
