Behind the scene - Take a Look at the modification work done on Tui passenger aircrafts to covert them to Tui Preighters !
Amid Travel slowdown, Tui is converting many of it's Boeing fleet aircrafts - B737, B767 and B787 aircrafts across the fleet as Cargo carriers or Preighters.
Few months ago, we had seen , how Kuwait airways was using its passenger aircrafts as preighters ! Infact all over the world , Passenger airlines are utilizing their fleet for cargo operations , sometimes carrying cargo laod on passenger seats and many a times , on the cabin floor , after removal of seats as per Manufacturer / OEM approvals/ limits.
The term 'Preighter' was coined by Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr ,as he quoted regarding the high demand for only air freight,
“In addition to our entire cargo fleet, we have operated 70 cargo flights using A330 passenger aircraft. We call these “Preighters” a combination of passenger aircraft and freighter,”
