Azerbaijan Airlines Leases 6 new New Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft, Deliveries from 2026.

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has signed an agreement with AerCap, to lease six new Airbus A320 family aircraft powered by the CFM LEAP engines.

According to the agreement, AZAL will receive three A320neos and three A321neos, with deliveries starting in spring 2026 and continuing until the end of the year.

The agreement was signed by Samir Rzayev, President of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, and Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer of AerCap.

Notably, this will mark the introduction of the A321neo into AZAL's fleet. It's planned that A321neo aircraft will fly to destinations such as Turkey, the Middle East and India. "A320neo" is intended to be used on European and Asian routes.

P. Anderson, Chief Commercial Director of AerCap, said:

"AerCap is pleased to welcome AZAL as a new customer and support them in expanding their aircraft fleet and route network. "A320neo" and "A321neo" are considered among the most demanded aircraft in the world."

"These aircraft will allow AZAL to serve passengers on more destinations and to update its fleet with the most technologically advanced and fuel-efficient aircraft on the market. We wish the AZAL team success in achieving these goals and hope for a long-term partnership."

Azerbaijan Airlines said,

The Airbus A320neo and A321neo are modern narrow-body aircraft designed for short- and medium-haul flights. Both models feature advanced control systems that enhance flight safety and passenger comfort.

Thanks to improved aerodynamics, the A320neo and A321neo significantly reduce both carbon emissions and noise levels, making them an attractive choice for airlines committed to sustainable development.

Worth mentioning here, in April last year, Azerbaijan Airlines, had placed an order with Airbus for 12 A320neo Family aircraft including A320neo and A321neo.
