The airline is based in Rivervale, Western Australia, and builds on the operational experience of Maroomba Airlines, which has long provided FIFO services in Western Australia.
The airline has been established to meet the growing demand for dedicated charter services supporting workforce mobility, project logistics and essential regional operations across some of Australia's most challenging environments. Combining decades of experience in airline management, flight operations and aircraft maintenance, Altura intends to deliver customised aviation services designed to meet the operational requirements of customers in regional Australia.
Altura Airlines was founded by Dr Amanda Healy, a proud Wonnarua woman and co-founder of Indigenous services company Warrikal, alongside aviation executives Michael Evans and Phil Garcia.
The company says its majority Indigenous ownership sets it apart by combining aviation expertise with a commitment to Indigenous participation, employment and long-term economic development in regional communities.

The carrier begins operations with a fleet of De Havilland Dash 8-100, Dash 8-300 and Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft, enabling it to provide flexible charter services for FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) workforce transport, executive travel, project mobilisation and other specialised missions throughout regional and remote Australia.
Looking ahead, Altura plans to expand its fleet with the introduction of Airbus A320 aircraft from 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. The addition of larger-capacity jets is expected to strengthen the airline's ability to support higher-volume workforce movements for customers in the mining, energy, infrastructure and government sectors.
