Allegiant Air returns back to Boeing , as it orders 50 B737 MAX aircraft , with an options for another 50 airplanes for the future !

There was a time , when the Allegiant Air used to operate Boeing's B-757 & MD80 airplanes , before converting to an All Airbus fleet , but the paradigm is going to change soon, as Allegiant returns back to Boeing !

Boeing expects to recover the order losses of  'KLM' and 'Qantas' by winning Allegiant Air , as the American ultra-low cost airline can take delivery of  upto 100 Max aircraft , with Today's agreement between Boeing and Allegiant Air.

On 5th December, Boeing and Allegiant Air announced an order for 50 737 MAX jets, with options for 50 additional airplanes. In Boeing's first U.S. ultra-low cost carrier (ULCC) deal, Allegiant selected two models – the 737-7 and 737-8-200 – in the 737 MAX family, which provide the lowest seat-mile costs for a single-aisle airplane and high-dispatch reliability.

Boeing said,

Welcome to the Boeing family,@Allegiant ! Today we announced an order from Allegiant Air for up to 100 737 MAX jets, including the 737-7 and 737-8-200.

"Our approach to fleet has always been opportunistic, and this exciting transaction with Boeing is no exception," said Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., Allegiant chairman and CEO.

"While the heart of our strategy continues to center on previously-owned aircraft, the infusion of up to 100 direct-from-the-manufacturer 737s will bring numerous benefits for the future – including flexibility for capacity growth and aircraft retirements, significant environmental benefits, and modern configuration and cabin features our customers will appreciate."

Before the year end , Aerospace Rival Airbus could manage to win orders from KLM and Qantas , which Boeing also desperately wanted to bag, to level off the nose diving losses due to Pandemic and Max groundings.

Qantas Domestic Fleet Renewal - Airbus Fleet !

During the end of 2021, Qantas had selected the Airbus A320neo and Airbus A220 families as the preferred aircraft for the long-term renewal of its domestic narrow-body fleet.

A firm commitment for 40 aircraft , 20 A321XLR (extra long-range) and 20 Airbus A220 aircraft  is very much in the cards by the end of FY22, after several Board meetings and discussions with employees about arrangements to operate the new aircraft types.

Coming back to Boeing, the Aerospace Giant is making a steady progress after a historic low and Losses , but definitely seen to be fastening the seat belt to promote the Max model , after getting the ban lifted by almost all the Regulators around the world !

Orders from New players are a definite boost - Akasa Air, an upcoming ultra-low-cost Indian carrier, had placed a $9 billion order for 72 Boeing 737 MAX Jets during Dubair Airshow 2021 !

Boeing wants Allegiant Air to get the maximum benefit of fleet commonality , with the both selected models !

It says,

With commonality and improved fuel efficiency, the 737 MAX family enables airlines to optimize their fleets across a broad range of missions. The 737-7 provides low-operating costs that enable carriers to open new routes with less economic risk, and the larger 737-8-200 offers added revenue potential and is right-sized for ULCC market expansion.

Boeing Compares the Max models to Allegiant Air's Current Airbus fleet in terms of fuel efficiency and carbon foot print , and says,

"Compared to Allegiant's current fleet, the new 737 models will reduce fuel use and carbon emissions by 20%."

Stan Deal, Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO said,

"We are thrilled that Allegiant has selected Boeing and the 737 MAX as they position themselves for future growth, improved efficiency and operational cost performance."

"This deal further validates the economics of the 737 MAX family in the ULCC market and we're excited to stand alongside Allegiant as they integrate these new airplanes into their fleet."

Boeing and Allegiant will partner on entry-into-service support, enabling a smooth transition as the carrier adds the B737 into its operation. Allegiant will also utilize a suite of Boeing Global Services digital tools to further enhance operational efficiency. Allegiant currently operates a fleet of 108 Airbus A319 and A320 airplanes.
