Pilot has died and passenger was injured after a Vultee BT-13 war plane crashed into a hangar at Grove Field Airport near Camas on wednesday.
East County Fire and Rescue (ECFR) Chief Mike Carnes said the small vintage aircraft crashed into a hangar on the northwestern end of the airfield.
“There were two people on board,” Carnes said.

Both the occupants were understood to be pilots and pilot in the front of the aircraft was receiving training from the pilot in the rear of the aircraft.
The student-pilot owned the plane and was killed in the crash, Carnes said. The trainer-pilot in the rear of the aircraft was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with traumatic injuries.
Further details on the accident are yet to be known and NTSB is expected to start its investigation soon.
