China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735 crash , that shook the Chinese Aviation Industry and the world Aviation equally , due to the manner in which it crashed , saw a coninuous effort from Chinese Search and Recue team in a difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions.

However, the Recovery workers have found the second black box at a depth of 1.5 meters below the surface, which gives an indication of force with which the aircraft hit the terrain.

The first black box (the cockpit voice recorder) was found on Wednesday -23rd March , and has been sent to Beijing for data extraction and analysis by the experts.

Apart from the two Black boxes , workers have also recovered parts of the plane’s engines, wings and main landing gear, along with other pieces of wreckage.

There had been very little hope of finding any survivors. In a late night news conference on Saturday, officials announced that all of the people onboard, including nine crew members, have been confirmed dead.

However , atleast to find out the cause of the accident , both the Black Boxes were required . Though , the Data storage unit was detached, the  flight data recorder (FDR) or Second black box was found around 9.20am on Sunday , buried about 1.5 metres (5 feet) under the soil at the mountainous crash site in the southern Chinese region of Guangxi.

The crash was the deadliest air disaster in mainland China since 1994 , when a China Northwest Airlines flight from Xian to Guangzhou crashed, killing all 160 people on board.

The cause of the China Eastern crash remains unknown. It was too soon to determine the cause of the accident , and crashes are usually the result of a combination of  multiple factors, experts say.

China is leading the crash investigation and we can expect a preliminary report within a month's time. The United States has also been invited to take part, as the Boeing 737-800 was designed and manufactured there.

The American National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it was working with US and Chinese authorities to resolve visa and Covid-19 quarantine issues before participating.
