As per the military spokesman, a Philippine Air Force (PAF) helicopter crashed into the waters off Getafe town in central Philippine Bohol province on Tuesday morning.
The MD520MG attack helicopter was on the maintenance flight, when it went down around 9:30 a.m. local time.
The pilot, Captain Aurelius Olalo, died in the crash and three other PAF personnel were admitted to President Carlos P. Garcia Memorial Hospital in Talibon town, Bohol.
Personnel from the military and the Philippine Coast Guard have secured the crash site.
Following the accident, the PAF confirms of grounding its MG520 fleet, even as it assured the public that all its air assets,
"are undergoing strict, regular, and redundant maintenance inspections before and after flight missions."
In January, a PAF helicopter on its way back from a resupply mission crashed in Bukidnon and left all of its 7 occupants dead.
