DHL Aero Expreso B757 breaks up into 'two' after Emergency landing followed by Runway excursion due to hydraulics snag !

On 7th of April, DHL Aero Expreso flight D0-7216 took off from runway 07 of San Jose Juan Santamaria International (MROC) in Costa Ricaat at around 3.36 PM UTC.

Few minutes later, aircraft experienced hydraulic failure forcing the cockpit to declare emergency by making a Mayday call at around Flight Level 210 (FL210).

The 1999 built B757-27APCF freighter aircraft , that was registered as 'HP-2010DAE' , was doing a flight to Guatemala City La Aurora International Airport (MGGT), Guatemala.

After declaring the emergency , the aircraft turned south at around 3:45 PM UTC and went on to a holding pattern for next 25 minutes , initially at 13,000 feet , and later at 9,000 feet , preparing for the landing , as seen in the picture above from FlightRadar24

Aircraft did the approach to Runway 07 and touched down approximately 44 minutes after the takoff. With limited capabilities due to the hydraulic failure, the aircraft tried to slowdown, but apparently it lost control and skidded right into 'taxiway-K' and slid down a steep embankment.

As the aircraft slid down the embankment , it's empennage broke off , generating volumes of smoke at the location , but was quickly attended by the fire trucks and the rescue team.

Cockpit Crew of the freighter were evacuated from the left forward door using a step ladder , and it has been learned that no serious injuries occured to them due to this unfortunate event.
