The owners of the Airport - the Hoy family has roped in a real estate broker to engage an industrial developer to develop the land of the airport for real estate transactions.
Student pilots , staff and members of the flight school - "Laurentide Aviation" , which started in the year 1946 will be at the receiving end , as School's lease contract ends on the same date , which will hinder any Legal dispute arising due to the closure.

Canada's Oldest Flying school - Laurentide Aviation's Lease contract with owner Les Encans Laurentide ends on 22nd May of this year and the Airport closure is set for May 22nd , 2022 at 19:59 pm.
Not for the first time regional Airports are getting a snub - this is the second closure for the greater Montreal area after the Mascouche Airport in 2016.
