UTair Aviation ATR-72 Made An Uncontrolled Movement To Collide With A Parked Yak-40 Aircraft During An Engine Ground Run Procedure.

UTair Aviation ATR-72  made  an  uncontrolled  movement  to  collide  with  a  parked  Yak-40  aircraft  during  an  engine  ground  run  procedure.

UTair Aviation ATR-72 made an uncontrolled movement to collide with a parked Yak-40 aircraft during an engine ground run procedure.

On 1st of  April evening, an UTair Aviation ATR-72 (VQ-BLJ) aircraft was doing a ground maintenance activity at the Surgut airport,Russia.

During the engine run maintenance of the aircraft, the turboprop aircraft suffered a breakdown of its braking system, which prompted the aircraft to move forward till it collided with a parked Yak-40 aircraft.

 

  

 

The  parked  Yak-40 aircraft (RA-87340) belonged to the Skol airline .

                                                                                                                                           

 

Nil injuries have been reported out of this incident .

 

 

 

Ural Investigative Directorate is analysing the circumstances and reason of the incident. Law enforcers have already examined the scene of the accident, the surrounding area, as well as both aircraft.

 

In addition, employees of the airport, representatives of airlines are interviewed, technical documentation has been seized.
