Technical malfunction at Swiss air navigation service provider Skyguide had forced close the Swiss Airspace this morning , Operations resumed with Reduced capacity !

Operations at Zurich Airport have resumed with Reduced capacity , and the Airport released it's second Update saying ,

 

Flight operations at Zurich Airport are running again. Flight operations are scheduled at 50% capacity until 09:30, and at 75% capacity from 09:30. We recommend passengers to pay attention to the flight information of the airline.

This release followed the malfunction resolve message by the Skyguide saying , "The airspace closure was lifted at 8.30 am"

The technical malfunction at Skyguide has been resolved. The airspace closure was lifted at 8.30 am. Swiss airspace is now open again and air traffic over Switzerland and operations at the national airports of Geneva and Zurich are resuming.

Skyguide regrets this incident and its consequences for its customers and partners, as well as for the passengers at the two national airports. Skyguide is doing everything in its power to handle the flights efficiently and to keep delays to a minimum.

 

Earlier this morning , Swiss air navigation service provider - Skyguide had undergone some unexpected malfuction owing to technical reasons , that forced the Swiss Airspace to close untill further notice.

 

Skyguide had released statements saying ,

The Swiss air navigation service provider Skyguide experienced a technical malfunction in the early hours of this morning, which is why Swiss airspace has been closed to traffic for safety reasons. This airspace closure is in effect until further notice.

Skyguide regrets this incident and its consequences for its customers, partners and passengers at Geneva and Zurich airports, and is working to find a solution. Skyguide will provide further information as soon as it becomes available.

 

After the malfunction was announced in the morning, Swiss airports came into immediate action relaying messages to alert the passengers about the scenario and probable restart of the operations.

Earlier Genève Aéroport had said ,

Due to a computer failure at Skyguide, all take-offs and landings at Genève Aéroport are suspended until 11 a.m. this Wednesday morning June 15. Passengers are advised to follow airline messages.
