Emergency Evacuation Of Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300ER aircraft Injured 18 People At Hong Kong International Airport.

On 24 june , a Cathay Pacific Boeing 777-300ER  plane aborted takeoff at Hong Kong International Airport due to signal anomaly in the early hours on Saturday, leaving around 11 passengers injured during an emergency evacuation.

 

According to the Hong Kong Airport Authority (HKAA), at around 00:20 a.m. local time, Cathay Pacific's Flight CX880 , that was operated by the aircraft (B-KPQ) , bound for Los Angeles aborted takeoff due to a cockpit warning indication and returned to the parking bay. The  five door emergency escape slides were deployed immediately for the evacuation of passengers.

 
 

The Hong Kong Airport Authority (HKAA) said that there were 17 crew members and 293 passengers on board. The injured people were sent to hospital, and nine of them have been discharged.

 

The security personnel have said that a tire of the Boeing aircaft was thought to have burst and people were injured during the evacuation procedure, some sources differ with the injury count and say it's 11 people under medical observation till now.

 

 

However the carrier - Cathay Pacific has apologized and said it would cooperate with authorities in their investigation. 

"We understand that 11 passengers are being treated at the hospital with injuries sustained during the evacuation process. Our priority is to look after all affected passengers and crew."
