Curious Case of a Qantas A330 Flight , that lands 6 minutes after the Australia - New Zealand flight takes effect on 19th April !

A Curious Case while trans - Tasman bubble takes effect !

On 19th April 2021, a Qantas A330 is set to at 12.05am at  Auckland Airport and the Curious part is, the border opens six minutes earlier under the Bubble agreement.

What if , there is a stong tail wind and  the aircraft is around 20 minutes early to Auckland  Airport  or  what if there is an emergency leading requirement ?

We understand , its too much of an imagination and  there are ways out like slowing down the aircraft  or  taking emergency permissions (squawking 7700)  for eventualities !

But , its the truth , a Qantas A330 positioning flight is happening with crew onboard tomorrow just after the border opens up .

Which is the Official First Flight after Bubble ?

Owing to these kind of unforeseen situations, the official flight after the bubble effect is scheduled at 11.20am on 19th april, which will be the first quarantine-free passenger flight arriving from  Sydney, Australia through a Jetstar flight (JQ201) . And this flight will receive an official welcome, that is planned at  Auckland Airport .

The trans - Tasman Bubble !

From 19th of April , Kiwis and  Australians will  be  able to travel between the two countries without having to go through the quarantine process.

The first  Air New Zealand service from Australia lands in Wellington at 1pm, and a welcome is also planned for that . live music and a huge banner at the end of the airport to welcome passengers will be the attraction.

"we are buzzing over the fact that we can welcome our Australian whānau (family) back and delighted there is a light at the end of a dark COVID tunnel for those local businesses hurting through a lack of international visitors. Bring it on" ,  said  Anna Calver , General manager WellingtonNZ.

Air New Zealand expects more than 5000 people to travel on that day. Fact is, Most Australian states have been open to New Zealand travellers for months, but April 19 marked the first time New Zealand has opened its borders to those in Australia.
