Changi Aviation Summit (CAS) -2022 !
More than 300 global aviation leaders, policy makers and senior aviation executives from over 45 countries including Transport Ministers and senior executives of civil aviation authorities, international organisations, airports, airlines, aircraft manufacturers and air navigation service providers , will meet in Singapore for the inaugural Changi Aviation Summit (CAS) , to be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre , from 17 to 18 May 2022.
Jointly organised by the Singapore Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) , the CAS is one of the first key aviation events held in the region since the onset of COVID-19.
It was enabled by the reopening of Singapore’s borders to fully vaccinated travellers on 1st April 2022. Singapore’s Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Mr S Iswaran, will deliver the CAS’ opening address, with keynote addresses by President of the Council, International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), Mr Salvatore Sciacchitano; Director General, International Air Transport Association (IATA) , Mr Willie Walsh; and Director General , Airports Council International (ACI) World, Mr Luis Felipe de Oliveira.
Themed “Readying for Take-off: A Brighter & Cleaner Tomorrow”, the key highlights of the CAS include:
► Panel discussions comprising public and private sector speakers covering the following themes: 1) Reviving aviation, Rebuilding connections; 2) Clearer and greener skies ahead; and 3) Inclusive innovation.
► Adoption of a Joint Communiqué to reaffirm civil aviation’s commitment to reviving international civil aviation operations in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
► Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and agreement to support global human capital development and to promote aviation safety standards in the Asia Pacific region.
Mr Kevin Shum, Chairman of the Changi Aviation Summit 2022 Organising Committee and Deputy Secretary (Strategy, Sustainability & Technology) at MOT, said,
