Antonov Company said, it has started construction of AN-178 aircraft ,ordered by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Today , Antonov Company announced of starting construction work on the medium multipurpose transport aircraft AN-178 , ordered by the  Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The aircraft was announced on 5 February 2010, rolled out on 16 April 2015 and the first flight was was on 7th May 2015.

On 18th june 2018 ,  Ministry of Defense of Ukraine had ordered 13 such aircrafts.

May 7, 2015,#AN178 medium multipurpose transport aircraft performed its first flight. Today, we working on the construction of AN-178 ordered by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine,the jig assembly of the fuselage of the first aircraft is scheduled to be completed in the end May.

The An-178 will  eventually replace outdated aircraft like the Antonov An-12 , An-26 and An-32 . 

An-178 is a high wing  transport aircraft with moderately swept wing, winglets and a T-tail devloped from An-158.

• Fuel capacity: 14,650 kg (32,298 lb).

• Length: 32.23 m (105 ft 9 in).
• Wingspan: 30.57 m (100 ft 4 in).
• Height: 9.57 m (31 ft 5 in).
• Service ceiling: 12,000 m (39,000 ft).
• Engines: 2 × Progress D-436 -148FM Turbofan.
• Max landing weight: 47,000 kg (103,617 lb).
