A Mexican Air Force aircraft suffered an incident on the runway of the Military Air Base No. 1 located in Santa Lucia, State of Mexico, reported the Ministry of National Defense (Defense)

The aircraft, a CASA C-295M with registration 3201, had taken off minutes before the military base and reached more than 9 thousand feet before returning immediately.

The landing was abrupt and caused visible damage to the tail section and landing gear, with no injuries reported.

The institution explained that the aircraft belonging to Air Squadron No. 301, was carrying out training activities, and had a mishap in the landing gear.

"In order to determine the causes that originated this event, the Investigative and Ruling Commission of Air Accidents was activated," Sedena said in a statement.

The CASA C-295M is a tactical transport aircraft used by the FAM in logistical support, patrol and special operations tasks.
