14 hours of Marathon Meeting could not alter the proposed length of Southampton Airport's runway.
164m (538ft) extension to the Runway was debated on Thursday, it carried on till midnight, but the Eastleigh councillors had to adjourn the meeting pending any result.
Now, the debate will continue on the second day to address the concerns of Campaigners & Local Authorities.
The airport authorities see its survival by extending the runway to accommodate narrow body aircrafts such as the Airbus A320 & Boeing B737.
The virtual meeting witnessed dozens of people including residents, councillors, businesses and representative of Southampton Airport voicing their views on the planned project.
The plan includes 600 extra parking spaces in the long-stay car park and a blast screen built to the north of the proposed runway extension.
The airport highlights, the expansion would result in £15m worth of investment & more than 1,000 jobs.
There were concerns of number of people affected by airport noise would go up from 11,450 in 2020 to 46,050 in 2033 during the meeting.
Three councillors out of the eight on the committee had given their views, with two opposing & one in favour of the revamp plans, while the meeting got adjourned.
