A criminal case has been opened into the emergency landing of an An-2 aircraft in North Ossetia with children on board, as per the press service of the Russian military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee.
The An-2 aircraft took off from the DOSAAF airfield in North Ossetia and made a hard landing between the settlements of Mayramadag and Koban in North Ossetia on the afternoon of August 31.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the pilot himself contacted the rescue service and told about the emergency landing, but could not indicate the exact location, so a helicopter was sent to search.
"According to updated information, the An-2 aircraft was on a training flight. There were 15 people on board. During the flight, 8 parachutists landed. Due to difficult terrain, the Russian Emergencies Ministry employees covered part of the route on foot. As a result of the hard landing, 7 people were injured, including 3 children," the report says.

The aircraft was on a parachute jump training flight, it took off from the DOSAAF aeroclub airfield.Ten of the passengers were parachutists.
According to the Mash Telegram channel, the children were on board illegally. They have whooping cough, and their parents may have sent them on the flight because they believed it would help with the illness.
All the victims were evacuated from the aircraft by the father of the two girls, who was on board. The man told rescuers that he was afraid that the plane was about to explode.
According to Baza sources, the two pilots received the most serious injuries. The son of one of them has a head injury. The girls, however, presumably have broken legs, and their father has a broken collarbone.
The case was opened under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code - violation of traffic safety rules and aircraft operation. The maximum penalty provides for imprisonment for up to two years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions for up to three years.
The Antonov An-2 is a Soviet era mass-produced single-engine biplane utility/agricultural aircraft designed and manufactured by the Antonov Design Bureau (now in Ukraine) beginning in the year 1947.
It should be noted that in Russia, planes are breaking down due to untimely maintenance, caused by the influence of sanctions.
