The Public Ministry of the Brazilian State of Alagoas, through the Special Action Group to Combat Tax Evasion and Laundering of Goods (Gaesf), issued, on the morning of this Wednesday 17 January, two search, seizure and hijacking warrants for an aircraft and goods in the states of Santa Catarina and Paraná.

 

The action resulted in the seizure of a Hawker Beechcraft 400XP aircraft, resulting from the execution of search, seizure and seizure warrants for assets issued by the 17th Criminal Court to Combat Organized Crime of Maceió-AL.

 

The Hawker 400 aircraft registered as PS-HAW , is a medium-sized executive aircraft model manufactured by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, an American aerospace manufacturing company. The jet is suitable for short trips of up to 2,778 km, with the capacity to carry six passengers and two pilots.

 
 

For the smooth conduct of raids, Precautionary measures were carried out in collaboration with the Public Ministries, Military Police and State Secretariats for Finance and Public Security of the two states, as well as the Civil and Military Police of Alagoas.

 

Due to the debts, the Court blocked the aircraft. Documents were also searched at the location to clarify the current status of the aircraft.


 

The search operation was an offshoot of investigations that began in November last year, when several members of a Criminal Organization (Orcrim) were denounced by Gaesf. The crimes attributed to Orcrim included corporate fraud, misrepresentation, asset laundering and issuing unreliable invoices, which resulted in a loss of R$37 million to the coffers of Alagoas and São Paulo.

 

The aircraft was seized at Luiz Dalcanale Filho Municipal Airport, in Toledo, and considering its seizure, Gaesf requested the Court to transfer the plane for official use by the Public Security Secretariat and the Health Secretariat of Alagoas, aiming to meet the needs of the population. needy.

 
 

Orcrim, according to Gaesf, issued 1,644 ideologically false invoices, totaling almost R$221 million in fraud that caused significant damage to the State of Alagoas.

 

Gaesf requested the Court to transfer the said plane for official use by the Public Security Secretariat and the Health Secretariat of Alagoas for the purpose of meeting the interests of the needy population.
