2017 built LATAM Airlines Airbus A320-271N aircraft (CC-BHB) struck the Runway 16 of Jorge Chávez International Airport (IATA: LIM , ICAO: SPJC) in the act of takeoff roll few hours ago. Evacuation was carrier out on the Runway.
It is being Learnt that the LATAM Airlines Airbus A320-271N aircraft (CC-BHB) collided with a fire truck/vehicle while taking off .
The aircraft (CC-BHB) fuselage is heavily damaged and burnt , MLG and engine sheared , and multiple other damages involving wing and fuselage.
Brief on the Runway incursion event development :
- 36 Passengers are injured, 4 of them seriously out of 102.
- Two fire fighters(engineers) lost thier lives , two more received serious injuries.
- Fire vehicle did unauthorized entry in the Active Runway 16.
