Post pandemic travel demand has suddenly heated up the Aviation job market , where airlines are struggling to get staffs for a smooth operation.
Matching British Airways' £1,000 golden handshake, EasyJet now offers cabin crew a £1,000 bonus as it struggles to recruit new and retain the experienced staff.
But , all the 'new and old' staffs will have to wait untill October, when they will be rewarded with the bonus for their efforts during this summer's travel demand.
The low cost carrier has initiated a major recruitment drive for the flight crew , and it has increased the hiring target from 1,500 to 1,700, to compete with market demand.
Apparently , easyJet is only interested in hearing from ex-flyers , cabin crew who were either made redundant or left before the pandemic upended the aviation industry.
During the pandemic the aviation sector was forced to lay off tens of thousands of workers, leaving the industry struggling to cope with the recovery in demand in recent months.
Britons desperate to fly out has encouraged carriers to lure experienced staffs from rival airlines to maintain their services both inflight and on-ground.
Shortly after British Airways' golden handshake ,another carrier Wizz Air had to changed the pay structure of the cabin crews and increased the wages to protect it's staffs from Poaching.
The UK chapter of the Hungarian career has raised the wages by 12.5 % for cabin crew, who will now have guaranteed 70 % of their overall annual package, against the earlier norm of 35%.
