After almost 2 hours of flying from Antalya - Turkey , a TUI airlines Boeing 737-81D aircraft made a diversion to Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (IATA: OTP, ICAO: LROP) on Saturday - 17th September.
The TUI Flight OR3042 , scheduled for a Rotterdam Airport (RTM) Landing , initially reported windshield cracks due to a bird strike encounter at the Flight Level 360 , later contradicted by the Airline.
Cockpit decided to make an emergency landing in the Capital city of Romania , and made a hard landing on Runway 26R of the Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport.
Passenger Kim Heijdenrijk took it to the social media and termed it an “uncontrolled hard emergency landing” , and also noted that there was “slight panic” onboard among the other passengers.

After the landing , the clueless passengers waited inside the aircraft for the next two hours. When they were transfered to the airport terminal , there was no help, passengers found it difficult to contact the airline about accommodations or alternate flight arrangements.
TUI text messages were not helpful either , passengers were forced to get down on floors waiting to be rescued . However , there were no hotel arrangments made available.

According to few passengers , TUI provided 'conflicting information' and the airline was unreachable. The sms was initially sent to passengers of another TUI flight. One passenger said,
"We received a text message from TUI in the middle of the night that they were not able to arrange an overnight stay."
Cockpit and cabin crew had already left for a hotel , probably the airline booked that for them. Passengers had to run around to gather information on the next course of relief from the Airline.

As most of the passengers did not have a proper visa for the immigration formalities, they spent the night on the Airport floors or Avialble Chairs with minimum luggage (hand) available to them.
