Based in Monterrey , Aerus, a new regional carrier of Mexico, is launching its fleet with two new 19 seat configured Cessna SkyCourier twin-engine turboprops and four Cessna Grand Caravan EX turboprops.
Understandably, the airline has already taken the delivery of the first three Grand Caravan EX aircraft to start its operations in northeastern Mexico, covering national routes.
A clean-sheet design , the Cessna SkyCourier had achieved Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) type certification in March 2022. The aircraft is powered by two wing-mounted Pratt & Whitney PT6A-65SC turboprop engines and features the McCauley Propeller C779, a heavy-duty and reliable 110-inch aluminum four-blade propellers.
Aerotransportes Rafilher S.A. de C.V. under the brand of "Aerus" had received approval from Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) in May 2022 for the start of the procedures as a new operator of scheduled air transport of passengers, cargo and mail ; and according to the airline , it will begin to provide service from 2023 with domestic and international flights.
Textron Aviation Inc. is the company behind the design and manufacturing of Cessna SkyCourier and Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft , which will form the basis of the fleet.
"A fleet of Cessna SkyCouriers and Cessna Grand Caravans will enable Aerus to be successful in growing service range and frequency of flights," said Marcelo Moreira, vice president of Sales, Latin America region, Textron Aviation. "Both aircraft offer superior performance and low operating costs in combination with flexibility in cabin and payload."

Aerus is part of Grupo Herrera , which has 80 years of experience in the automotive, financial, and real estate industries, and has had an air taxi permit since 1990. The company plans to begin its airline operations in the first quarter of 2023.
