Loosing a part of the experienced and valuable aviation work force can 'hit the carriers really bad' is 'understood and evident' from the current flight cancellation chaos in the airports of the United States of America.
As signs of Aviation Recovery take baby steps , and demand for Aviation workers ,Flight attendants and pilots grow in the U.S.A , Middle Eastern airlines have become alert !
Internal memos by both the Middle eastern carriers , Emirates and Qatar Airways , as seen by FL360aero , suggests that higher management of both the carriers are trying to retain back their existing staffs, specifically the pilots, so that they don't face the shortage of Operations staffs , while they have started to increase their routes for the post covid-19 consolidation.
Emirates Chairman office sent a letter to the staffs to thank them for accepting the difficult working conditions and also promised the return back of the benefits by saying,
Emirates chairman and chief executive Ahmad bin Saeed Al Maktoum said , the changes will take effect from 1st of October .
Qatar Airways did not fall back , as the Group CEO Akbar Al Baker sent an Internal Memorandum to the Pilot community saying ,
" I am fully aware of your efforts as front liners, and would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued dedication and professionalism during these difficult times. Keeping our passengers flying when needed us most was hugely appreciated as we helped get them home"
" with this in mind , i am pleased to announce that we are now in a position to further revert some of solidarity programme to pre-covid period benefits."
He also promised ,
" Effective 1st of September 2021, salary packages will be re-aligned to pre-covid remuneration for existing re-hires in addition to new hires who join us as we respond to commercial demands. Additionally , yearly basic salary increments are re-instated for all the pilot community, as per company policy."
So, trend seems to be quite clear now , Aviation companies and Airlines do not want to lose their work force , when time for raising the business is back and travellers are making the airports busy.
