Ryanair Holdings PLC has notified the Securities and Exchange Commission that BNP Paribas SA has crossed the 7% threshold in voting rights, due to recent acquisitions and financial instruments.
Dated March 19th, 2024, the notification details a combined total of 7% voting rights, with direct voting rights at 3.73% and indirect through financial instruments at 3.27%.
This development positions BNP Paribas SA as a major share holder in the Dublin based airline company, that could have potential influence over corporate decisions of the future.
In another filing today, Ryanair Holdings PLC has reported a significant change in shareholding, with The Capital Group Companies, Inc. crossing the threshold to hold over 12% of total voting rights as of March 14, 2024.
This change in ownership structure was officially notified to Ryanair on the following day, reflecting a notable increase from a previous position of 11.02% to 12.05% in voting rights.
Earlier in January 2021, The Capital Group, the billion-dollar Los Angeles investment firm, had pushed its stake in Ryanair up to 10.17 per cent.
The 'Ryanair Holdings' includes the subsidiaries Ryanair DAC, Malta Air, Buzz, Lauda Europe and Ryanair UK. Ryanair DAC, the oldest airline of the group, was founded in 1984.
